The Organising Committee (OC)
based in New Delhi has recently disclosed the formal price of
tickets for various international gaming events being held under
the mega sporting event, the Commonwealth Games 2010. The
tickets for the games are currently priced at Rs 50 to Rs
1000 per event. But the tickets for the opening ceremony
range from Rs 1000 to whopping Rs 50,000 per person, for the elite visitor amongst the
local crowd. Similarly, the closing ceremony tickets are ranges
from Rs 750 to Rs 50,000 per person. Both opening and closing
ceremonies are being organized at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium. But
the good news is that four of the major events will be free of
charge to watch. These sporting events are Walking, Marathon
Race, Cycling Road Race and Cycling Time Trial. The chairman of
the organizing committee Suresh Kalmadi backed the pricing of
the tickets for the Games that have been specially priced
keeping in mind that not only the foreigners but also the locals
in New Delhi can enjoy this spectacular sporting event.
He showed confidence in sports lovers in India and that they
would contribute to the Games in big way which is the being held
in Asia for the second time and first time in India. The Indian
nation is proud to host such a big scale event and expected to
get windfall gains from it. This will help India revive its
tottering economy.
